Restoration and Extension of  a Georgian Terrace, Fermoy, Co Cork

Status: Complete

The protected Georgian house was in a poor state of repair and needed complete renovation. The design included a new double height glass box extension to the rear and modifications to the internal layout. The extension delineates between the old and new parts of the house and brings ample light into the living areas, allowing the house to function more comfortably as a contemporary family home. The existing house has been extensively restored. The work to the original house follows the conservation philosophy of minimum intervention – doing as little as possible in order to make the house function as a family home
